A California city has sued various chemical companies, alleging a solvent they manufactured or distributed contaminated local public drinking water supplies (Hughson v. Dow Chem. Co.lawsuit filed).
The city of Hughson, about 80 miles west of San Francisco, alleged that the groundwater used to supply its drinking water was contaminated with 1,2,3-trichloropropane (TCP).
The defendants named in the lawsuit are Dow Chemical Co., Dow Agrosciences LLC, Shell Oil Co., Shell Chemical Co., Occidental Chemical Corp., Wilbur Ellis Co., J.R.
