Citigroup Names Colin Church to Newly Created Climate-Risk Role

Citigroup Inc. named Colin Church, who oversaw the bank’s response to crises including the Arab Spring and Argentina’s restructuring, to a new role overseeing the company’s risks related to climate change.

Church -- most recently Citigroup’s chief risk officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa -- will become global head of crisis risk management and climate risk, reporting to Chief Risk Officer Brad Hu, according to an internal memo Thursday. Church previously led the firm’s response to Brexit and the euro zone debt crisis.
