China Plans Regulation on Titanium Dioxide Industry

A regulation that will restrict or promote certain production techniques in the titanium dioxide industry and impose new environmental requirements is expected to be released in the next year, according to the China Petroleum & Chemical Industry Association. According to a Nov. 13 post on the group’s website, Ministry of Environmental Protection officials said at a conference in Beijing that a first draft of a pollution prevention and treatment plan for the industry had been completed and the regulations would likely be released sometime in 2014.
