Chevron Plans to Buy Oil From Sable for California Refinery (1)

Chevron Corp. is planning to buy some of the first shipments of crude from Sable Offshore Corp.’s platforms off the coast of Santa Barbara, weeks after the Trump administration green-lit the restart of production.

The intention by Chevron to buy an initial 20,000 barrels a day of oil is another boost for Sable, which has faced concerted environmental opposition to its attempt to revive operations in Californian water. Sable’s plans have also become politicized amid the debate over how to address fast-rising fuel prices in the state.
