Chateaux Wineries Escape Criminal Pesticide ‘Poisoning’ Charges

A French court April 30 dropped charges against two chateaux wineries that were accused of poisoning 23 schoolchildren and their teacher by spraying pesticides in the Bordeaux wine region.

The two chateaux, Chateau Escalette and Chateau Castel La Rose, were charged with “inappropriate use of plant protection products” near an elementary school in May 2014 in Villeneuve-de-Blaye (Gironde).
