Charleston Cainhoy Housing Development Permits Get Court Nod

The US Army Corps approval of a Charleston, South Carolina, housing development’s wetland dredging permit was upheld by a federal court after a judge ruled the construction plan will conserve “the vast majority of natural resources” on the land.

The Cainhoy Project, a 9,000-acre development set to construct at least 9,000 housing units in the Cainhoy Peninsula, “will not lead to significant degradation” of federal waters, the US District Court for the District of South Carolina ruled Thursday.
