Environmental groups can’t block Central Maine Power from building transmission lines and other facilities in Maine pending their lawsuit over the federal government’s review of the project, the First Circuit ruled Thursday.
The Sierra Club, Natural Resources Council of Maine, and Appalachian Mountain Club argue the Army Corps of Engineers improperly limited the scope of its environmental analysis to federal waters. The U.S. District Court for the District of Maine rejected their motion for a preliminary injunction, saying it’s unlikely the Corps didn’t take their concerns into account.
