The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved a natural gas project in Kentucky and Indiana that will allow a coal plant to switch to natural gas, as the commission beefs up staffing to process project applications, its chair said Thursday.
“We’re trying to do everything we can that’s required by the courts—we’re trying to move things along as quickly as we can,” FERC Chair Richard Glick told reporters after the commission’s monthly meeting.
“We’re desperately trying to add staff” in the Office of Energy Projects, he added, “so we can hopefully process these applications in a speedier, expedited manner.”
