Cannabis Company Sued Over Lack of Air Permits for Generators

Green Sage Management LLC operates nine “massive” diesel generators nonstop to power its cannabis cultivation facility in Oakland, Calif., without a required air quality permit, according to a lawsuit filed in a federal court in the state.

Environmental Democracy Project told the US District Court for the Northern District of California that the company’s failure to get the permits for the generators violates the Clean Air Act. The “semi-truck size” generators have released “tons of cancer-causing diesel particulate matter” and other pollutants into the area, according to the complaint filed Wednesday.
