US veterans and others seeking compensation from the government for harmful exposure to toxic water at Camp Lejeune won’t have their cases heard by a jury, a panel of federal judges said.
The judges, in a 34-page ruling filed Tuesday, rejected arguments from the plaintiffs’ lawyers that jury trials were necessary to allow sick and dying veterans a chance to plead their case before a panel of their peers.
