The California Trucking Association is suing local air regulators over a rule requiring warehouses to reduce their pollution from heavy-duty trucks.
The group challenged the South Coast Air Quality Management District on Thursday over a rule they say will interfere with interstate trucking operations and oversteps authority that belongs to the federal government.
“The District now seeks to go where no local air district has sought to go before, to implement a rule forcing the marketplace’s accelerated acquisition and use of zero emission (“ZE”) or near zero emission (“NZE”) heavy-duty trucks,” the complaint said.
