California Sues ExxonMobil Over Plastic’s Recyclability Claims

California sued ExxonMobil over claims the oil company made misleading public statements about the recyclability of plastics, according to a statement from California Attorney General Rob Bonta.

• ExxonMobil “falsely promoted all plastic as recyclable, when in fact the vast majority of plastic products are not and likely cannot be recycled, either technically or economically,” according to the statement.
