The California Air Resources Board filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against Trump administration agencies that sought to revoke the state’s special waiver to set and enforce vehicle emissions standards.
The Air Board lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia May 15, wants a judge to order the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to turn over documents related to revoking the state’s Clean Air Act waiver.
Representatives from the EPA and NHTSA said in emails that the agencies don’t comment on pending litigation.
