California Seeks Court Order for Plastics Industry Documents

California Attorney General Rob Bonta asked a state court to enforce his subpoena of documents from two large plastics industry organizations less than a week after the groups filed legal complaints in federal court saying the demand was unconstitutional.

The Plastics Industry Association and the American Chemistry Council failed to produce all the requested records related to Bonta’s ongoing investigation into the petrochemical industry, plastic pollution, and the feasibility of plastic recycling, according to two petitions Bonta (D) filed Tuesday in California Superior Court, Sacramento County.
