The California Coastal Commission on Thursday approved an inspection and maintenance program for how spent nuclear fuel stored at Camp Pendleton will be inspected and maintained through 2035.
The San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station was closed in 2013 and Southern California Edison began decommissioning the facility south of Los Angeles at the beginning of the year.
