California Department of Corrections Facing Water Pollution Suit

A California state prison is illegally releasing polluted water containing E. coli and other contaminants into a nearby creek, according to a lawsuit filed against the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in a California federal court.

The water releases from Mule Creek State Prison into Mule Creek violate the Clean Water Act, according to the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
