LOS ANGELES—A science advisory board for the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment decided March 18 against listing the insecticide deltamethrin (CAS No. 52918-63-5) as a reproductive toxicant under Proposition 65.
After evaluating OEHHA’s analysis of studies on the effects of deltamethrin exposure on laboratory animals, the agency’s Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC) voted 6-1 against listing the chemical for developmental toxicity, 7-0 against listing for female reproductive toxicity, and 5-2 against listing for male reproductive toxicity, OEHHA spokesman Sam Delson told BNA in an email following the vote.
