A California federal judge temporarily blocked the state from enforcing an agreement between the state and the trucking industry that requires companies to meet certain emissions standards.
Judge Dena Coggins of the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said “there are serious questions going to the merits of” the plaintiffs’ claim that the 2023 agreement between the state and industry, known as the Clean Truck Partnership, is preempted and that “there is concrete, irreparable harm” from the California Air Resources Board’s filing of a lawsuit last week to try to enforce the agreement.
