California AG Withdraws Plastics Subpoena, Condemns New Motions

The plastics industry’s new attempt to escape California’s investigative subpoenas should be denied since one of the subpoenas has been withdrawn and trade groups again failed to prove personal jurisdiction, state Attorney General Rob Bonta told a federal judge.

Bonta on Monday asked Judge Amit P. Mehta to throw out the Plastics Industry Association’s and American Chemistry Council’s renewed motions for a preliminary injunction and temporary restraining order, saying the groups haven’t identified a new basis for revisiting the court’s previous order, according to a memorandum in opposition filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
