Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay will soon begin implementing plans to sustainably develop the Pantanal, the world’s largest freshwater wetland, and to guarantee the conservation of its main river basin.
The March 22 tri-national agreement calls for the integrated and transboundary management of water resources among the three signatories, all of which intersect the Pantanal and share its main waterway, the Parana River.
