BP Appeals District Court Decision Upholding Approval of $8.5 Billion Gulf Spill Settlement

NEW ORLEANS—BP Plc filed a notice of appeal April 3 of a trial court ruling upholding approval by an administrator of an $8.5 billion settlement over the 2010 oil spill that the company said will force it pay billions of dollars more than expected (In re Oil Spill by the Oil Rig Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010).
