The multi-agency National Nanotechnology Initiative would receive about $1.76 billion under the president’s fiscal year 2013 budget request for federal research and development, a 2.7 percent increase from fiscal 2012.
The proposed $1.76 billion, part of an overall $140.8 billion request for federal research and development programs, would be allocated among more than two dozen agencies that make up the nanotechnology initiative, including the Environmental Protection Agency and the Energy Department.
