Bloom Energy Gets $100 Million to Deploy Fuel Cell Projects

Bloom Energy Corp., a maker of fuel-cell power systems, said it has received $100 million in financing from KeyCorp for commercial and industrial projects.

The investment will provide lease financing for about 10 megawatts to 15 megawatts of Bloom Energy fuel cells, according to a statement.

Previously, KeyCorp provided $300 million in project financing for about 70 Bloom Energy fuel cell installations in the U.S. Fuel cells produce electricity from natural gas through a chemical process that’s cleaner than systems that burn the fuel.
