BlackRock’s GIP Said to Be in Talks to Buy Power Company AES (2)

BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners LP is in advanced talks to acquire power company AES Corp., according to people familiar with the matter, the latest takeover in the sector as investors bet the AI boom will lift demand.

An agreement could be reached as early as this week, according to the people, who asked not to be named as the discussions are private. Talks could still be delayed or fall apart, they said.
