Black Former Employee Sues Wells Fargo, Claiming Retaliation

Wells Fargo Bank NA is facing a new federal lawsuit from a Black former employee alleging the company discriminated against him based on race and retaliated against him for complaining about discrimination, ultimately firing him.

Mubasha Newsome Jr. asserts claims under Title VII, the Florida Civil Rights Act, and Section 1981 in his complaint filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Florida.

Newsome “eventually filed an internal discrimination complaint” about the alleged harassment he was receiving from his manager, the complaint says.
