Bipartisan House Climate Caucus Holds First Public Meeting

Though much of the rest of the world would hardly blink, the U.S. Congress marked what several members deemed a “historic” moment April 20 when a House caucus of Democrats and Republicans convened their first public meeting to discuss approaches for tackling climate change.

The Bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus, founded by Florida Reps. Ted Deutch (D) and Carlos Curbelo (R), heard from New Zealand Climate Change Minister Paula Bennett about her country’s approach to the issue and from an official with Statoil about his company’s strategy on climate change.
