Biggest US Power Market Seen Splitting Up, Says Top NJ Utility

The biggest US power market may be forced to split itself up as it becomes more challenging to satisfy the evolving demands of the 13 states in its territory, according to the head of New Jersey’s largest utility.

The load demands across the vast grid operated by PJM Interconnection LLC are shifting as the threat of climate change spurs a switch to electricity and away from fossil fuels.
