Biden to Target Power Plants With Suite of Pollution Mandates

The Biden administration will seek to impose a suite of new environmental requirements on power plants “in one fell swoop,” EPA Administrator Michael Regan says Thursday.

  • New regulations focused on health-based pollutants, air toxics, and waste disposal
    • Could provide more certainty to the power sector and guide its long-term investments, Regan says at the American Council on Renewable Energy’s policy forum
  • NOTE: Strategy also could help compensate for any new limits in the agency’s Clean Air Act authority that are possible from the Supreme Court later this year
