Biden Targets EV Charging Network Capacity to Boost Rollout (1)

The performance and resilience of the US electric vehicle charging network must be improved to speed the rollout of EVs and decarbonize the transportation sector, a Biden administration official said Friday.

Gabe Klein, executive director of the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, spoke as the Energy Department prepared to announce $46.5 million for 30 projects in 16 states and Washington, D.C., to boost EV charging ports. The projects also aim to widen access to clean transportation, grow the clean energy workforce, and assess grid reliability.
