Robert Anderson, an American Indian law scholar and longtime professor, has been nominated to serve as Interior Department solicitor, the agency’s top lawyer.
The White House on Wednesday announced its intent to promote Anderson from the principal deputy solicitor role he assumed in January. If confirmed by the Senate, he’ll mold the department’s legal positions on policies involving endangered species, public lands, tribes, and more.
