Biden Sets Stage for Offshore Wind Sales Near Oregon, Virginia

The Interior Department is taking formal steps toward potential sales of offshore wind energy leases along Oregon and the U.S. East Coast.

  • The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management outlined the potential lease areas in online notices, and Bureau Director Amanda Lefton announced the move at a Business Network for Offshore Wind forum Wednesday
    • The agency is seeking information to “identify potential areas that may be suitable for future offshore wind energy leasing,” Lefton said, adding that the effort will help combat climate change and “create good-paying jobs”
