Biden administration officials are meeting with oil industry and environmental leaders as they weigh setting federal standards for so-called green natural gas intended to lure European buyers.
A closed-door meeting is scheduled for Thursday morning in Houston between the Energy Department, gas producers and third-party methane-analysis experts, according to people familiar with the discussions who requested anonymity.
