The Biden administration wants the Fifth Circuit to undo an order blocking agencies from using interim estimates on the social costs of greenhouse gas emissions, according to a filing in a Louisiana federal court.
The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana’s order came as a win for Louisiana, Texas, and eight other states that challenged the estimates. The states argued the estimates would prevent them from buying affordable energy and reduce funds needed to maintain Louisiana’s coastline.
