Two Biden appellate nominees in red states with military backgrounds who drew conservative pushback advanced out of committee with bipartisan support.

The Democratic-led Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday approved the nominations of Richard Federico for a Kansas vacancy in the Tenth Circuit, 13-8, and Joshua Kolar for an Indiana seat on the Seventh Circuit,16-5.
