Biden ‘Abused’ Authority in Declaring Utah Monuments, State Says

President Joe Biden “abused” his authority and broke the law when he re-established the boundaries of two Utah national monuments under the Antiquities Act, the state of Utah and two Utah counties allege in a lawsuit filed Wednesday.

The lawsuit filed in US District Court for the District of Utah is the latest twist in the decades-long saga over the 1.8 million-acre Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, declared by President Bill Clinton in 1996, and the 1.35 million-acre Bears Ears National Monument, declared by President Barack Obama in 2016.
