Berkshire Blanket & Home Co. misleads consumers about the environmental impacts of its EcoSoft blanket, a proposed class of consumers said in a federal complaint in Massachusetts.
Berkshire allegedly lead consumers to believe that the blanket is an environmentally friendly product by marketing and labeling the product as “ecosoft,” “for the planet,” and as using “half the water.” But the blanket is made from 100% polyester, a synthetic fiber that is inherently harmful to the environment, the proposed class said in its lawsuit.
