The Environmental Protection Agency has lifted its Safe Drinking Water Act order for the city of Benton Harbor, Mich., according to EPA Wednesday.
The order was issued in November of 2021 due to violations and deficiencies found during a federal-state inspection of the city’s water system.
Benton Harbor has completed all terms of the order in addition to replacing all of the city’s lead service lines, said the agency. The water system has also not exceeded the lead action level in the most recent monitoring periods.
