BASF Herbicide Challenge Dropped After Registrations Scrapped

Two environmental and public health groups dropped their petition for review challenging EPA approval of BASF Corp.‘s herbicide trifludimoxazin after the company filed a request for voluntary cancellation of the registrations, the Ninth Circuit said.

The petition, filed by the Center for Food Safety and the Center for Biological Diversity, sought to set aside the Environmental Protection Agency’s unconditional registration of trifludimoxazin and BASF’s Tirexor herbicide, and to stop the use and sale of the products. The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit dismissed the petition Tuesday pursuant to a stipulation the parties filed May 27.
