Baltimore Sued Over Pollution From Wastewater Treatment Plants

Baltimore is failing to stop two wastewater treatment plants from releasing pollution into nearby waters above limits set in state permits, a conservation group told a federal court in Maryland.

The city’s inaction violates the Clean Water Act, according to the lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Blue Water Baltimore told the court Wednesday that the alleged violation will continue unless the court orders the city to comply with its permits and fix the problem.
