Avangrid, Equinor, Eyeing California Offshore Wind (Corrected)

Avangrid Renewables LLC and Equinor Wind US LLC are among the 14 companies that have expressed interest in building the first floating offshore wind farms off the coast of California.

The companies envision floating wind farms to begin generating electricity there in 2025 or later, according to documents published between April 15 and April 22 on the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s website.
