Attorneys Plead Guilty in Chemical Company Extortion Scheme

Two attorneys pleaded guilty on Friday in a case involving a $200 million extortion scheme involving a chemical company in connection with litigation over a common weedkiller.

Timothy Litzenburg, 38, of Charlottesville, Va., and Daniel Kincheloe, 41, of Glen Allen, Va., each pleaded guilty to one count of transmitting interstate communications with the intent to extort before U.S. Magistrate Judge Joel C. Hoppe of the Western District of Virginia, the Justice Department said in a news release. They will be sentenced on Sept. 18 before U.S. District Court Judge Norman K. Moon.
