The US Army Corps of Engineers asked a federal court to dismiss a lawsuit over a now-canceled expansion of a dredge disposal facility along Lake Michigan.
The agency withdrew the final authorization of a vertical expansion of a confined disposal facility last month, so conservation groups no longer have standing under the Administrative Procedure Act to request the agency restore the existing dredging operation, the Army Corps told the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois April 25.
