The Army Corps of Engineers will start its new environmental review for the Dakota Access pipeline by Sept. 4, the agency said Monday.
In a filing to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, government lawyers said the Army Corps will finalize a formal notice kicking off the process for a court-ordered environmental impact statement (EIS) that takes a closer look at potential oil spill risks. The EIS process is expected to span 13 months.
