The Trump administration has permitted nearly 800 projects affecting wetlands and waterways as part its efforts to fast-track energy development, a US Army Corps of Engineers official told a Senate committee Wednesday.
President Donald Trump on Jan. 20 declared an energy emergency, calling for the Army Corps to expedite issuing Clean Water Act Section 404 dredge-and-fill permits and nationwide permits for fossil fuels and other natural resources projects.
