Antero Resources Corp. reached a $3.8 million settlement of allegations of air pollution violations from hundreds of oil and gas wells in West Virginia and Ohio, according to Friday court filings.
Proceeds from the civil penalty will be divided between the US and its co-plaintiff West Virginia. The company also agreed to undertake several projects set to cost approximately $5.8 million to improve air quality monitoring and maintenance of vapor control systems at production facilities, according to a proposed consent decree filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.
