Ancestral Footprints Monument Lawsuits Should Be Tossed, US Says

The Biden administration urged a federal court to dismiss cases from Republicans in the Arizona State Legislature and a rancher challenging the president’s decision to designate a national monument on almost 1 million acres of public lands near the Grand Canyon.

The decision hasn’t caused a cognizable injury that the court can redress, so the cases should be dismissed, the federal government told the US District Court for the District of Arizona on Monday.
