Amplify Energy Corp. will pay $50 million to remedy class claims brought over an oil spill in the San Pedro Bay in 2021, after a federal judge in California granted final approval of the deal.
California businesses and individuals sued when a leak in the company’s San Pedro Bay pipeline discharged around 25,000 gallons of crude oil into the Pacific Ocean which spread along the coast of Orange County. Federal investigators say that the pipeline was likely damaged by a ship’s anchor.
