Ameren to Spend $8 Billion on Renewables in Push to Net Zero

Ameren Corp. plans to spend almost $8 billion over the next two decades on wind and solar power as its Missouri electric utility seeks to become carbon neutral by 2050.

The unit expects to invest $4.5 billion to add 3,100 megawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2030, including deals to acquire Missouri wind farms in the next few months for $1.2 billion, according to a statement Monday.
