With marijuana’s increasing legality driving down the price of pot, growers need to save money on their operations. That’s led them to seek ways to use energy more efficiently.

Cannabis analytic companies New Frontier, Scale Microgrid Solutions, and the Resource Innovation Institute plan to release the 2018 Cannabis Energy Report in September, aimed at giving pot farmers ideas on how to make more efficient use of energy. The report is based on findings from their Cannabis Power Score, which collects data submitted from marijuana farms across the U.S. and compares their energy bills, lighting equipment, and climate-controlled HVAC systems.
