Aerospace Manufacturer Agrees to Stem Pollutants Under Deal

Hydroform USA Inc. reached a settlement agreement with an environmental group, resolving claims that it discharged polluted stormwater into a municipal water system in violation of its Clean Water Act permits.

Los Angeles Waterkeeper claimed that the aerospace products manufacturer released pollutants—including zinc, ammonia, oil, and iron—from its facility in Carson, Calif. According to the lawsuit, the pollutants flowed in stormwater to the Long Beach municipal storm sewer system and then to the Dominguez Channel Estuary and Los Angeles Harbor.
